Frequently Asked Questions

There are two networks available in the library: eduroam and grizzlyguest.  Eduroam is for current student, staff, and faculty at the University of Montana or other participating Eduroam institutions. UM students etc. can connect to the eduroam network using their "netid@umontana.edu" as the username.

Grizzlyguest is the public Wi-Fi option, and is available to anyone! All you need is an email address to gain access.

Your NetID is what you use to access UM services and applications. For more information please see here: https://www.umt.edu/it/services/accounts/netid.php and for help with any NetID issues, feel free to stop by the tech desk and we can point you in the right direction.

Yes! You can print from a number of mobile devices. You must have a valid NetID, and be connected to the eduroam wireless network. Next go to “papercut.umt.edu.” After logging in with your NetID, you will be able to submit print jobs!  If you need any help, don’t hesitate to stop by the technology support desk.

Tech support circulates a few different video cameras. Unfortunately, we don’t have any digital cameras for circulation, but we do offer a GoPro, Snapchat Spectacles and Ski goggles with a built in camera. All of these items come with various accessories and circulate for 3 days.

Yes! We have all types of chargers available at the tech desk and they check out for 3 hours. We also have 2 charging stations on level 3, one is located to your immediate right when you walk through the front doors, and the other is located in the East Faculty Office Area on a pillar.

YES! The library has several different scanners available.  Depending on what you need to scan we have the scanner for you including; flatbed, sheet, and book scanners.

NO. When you log in to our computers with your NetID a temporary profile is created. Anything you do or save is erased after you logoff. Documents and personal information ARE NOT STORED on the computers. With that being said, save any documents to a flash drive or to the cloud to avoid losing them!

Our public access computers are located on the main level across from the Information Center. These computers are available for use Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and on the weekends from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Sessions are limited to one hour.

Room 102 - One Button Studio

Room 202 - Mac, scanner, wide screen monitor

Room 211 - Equipped with a Mac and wide screen monitor

Room 213 - Equipped with a laptop collaborative workstation

Room 215 - Setup as a family friendly room- equipped with some children's books/videos,TV/DVD player, smaller furniture, and 2 person study table

Room 504 - Veterans Study Room, equipped with a computer and wide screen monitor

Room 512 - Equipped with computer and projector

A BluRayPlayer and VHS/DVD player are both located on level four.

Microfilm and microfiche readers are located on level one; you will need to check out a key from circulation to access the microform machines. To save materials, please bring a USB flash drive. If you are a community user, please call (406)243-2953 and we will assist you.

These are the workstations found in our two classrooms; Buckhous (284) and the Student Learning Center (283). Both classrooms are located on level two; call (406)243-6866 to reserve these spaces for instruction.
