STUDENT BOOK COLLECTION CONTEST
H.G. MERRIAM AWARD
Named in honor of H. G.(Harold Guy) Merriam, 1883-1980, University of Montana Professor of English, 1914-1954. Professor Merriam started the creative writing program at the University of Montana. The award is given to Montana writers who work in creative or literary areas.

LUD BROWMAN AWARD
Named in honor of Ludwig G. Browman, 1904-1986, University of Montana Professor of Zoology, 1937-1972. Besides being an active faculty member and researcher, Professor Browman found time to be one of the founding members of the University's Friends of the Library. The Lud Browman Award is presented to Montanans who have excelled in scientific writing.
