Accessing the
WALL STREET JOURNAL ONLINE

The Mansfield Library carries the print version of the Wall Street Journal dating from 1889. The most recent two months are available in newsprint and back issues are available on microfiche - both are available on the first floor of the library. The library also has access to online Wall Street Journal content through Fativa dating back to 1979. Not all information published in the paper is available online - the content available on Factiva is primarily article text. For table-based and graphical information, such as stock and ond data, please refer to the print or fiche versions of the paper.
1st: To get to the Wall Street Journal on Factiva
- From the library's web page select Journals.
- Type Wall Street Journal
- Look for "Wall Street Journal. Eastern Edition", and click on "Factiva"
2nd: Browsing Wall Street Journal on Factiva (two weeks ago - present)
- In Factiva, select the News Pages tab
- Scroll down to Wall Street Journal section
- Using the drop-down menus, select tghe date and section you'd like to browse
- You can now view articles by clicking on the titles
3rd: Searching the full-text of the Wall Street Journal on Factiva (1979 - present)
- In Factiva, verify that the "search" tab is selected
- In the "Select Sources and Factiva Intelligent Indexing" section, click on "Source" next to the "+" sign
- In the "Find a Source" section, enter "Wall Street Journal"
- Click on the "Publication: The Wall Street Journal", mark it as "currently selected"
- Enter your search terms in the "Free Text" box
- You can now view articles by clicking on the titles
