Quileute is spoken on the Olympic peninsula in Washington State. Sahaptin

updated 11-17-2003 Sahaptin (Macro-Penutian) comprises one sub-branch of the Penutian branch of the Macro-Penutian family of languages. Languages belonging to this sub- branch include Nez Perce, Tenino, Umatilla, Walla Walla, and Yakima. Wasko

updated 12-3-2002 Wasko (Macro-Penutian), also spelled Wasco, belongs to the Chinookan sub-branch of the Penutian branch of the Macro-Penutian family of languages. Wasko is spoken in Washington and Oregon. A close dialect is Wishram, and together Wasko-Wishram is sometimes called Upper Chinook. 497.4 Nickol, Robert O. Wintun

updated 12-5-2002 Wintun (Macro-Penutian) belongs to the Penutian branch of the Macro- Penutian family of languages. Dialects of Wintun are Wintu, Patwin and Nomlaki; some linguists regard these as separate languages. There are also a couple of other Wintun languages, so it may also be regarded as a sub-branch of Penutian. Yokuts

There are several dialects, best- known of which is Yawelmani Yokuts.
