Tswana

updated 4-4-2003 Tswana (Niger-Kordogfanian), also called Setswana, belongs to the Strict Bantu sub-branch of the Bantoid sub-branch of the Benue-Congo sub-branch of the Niger-Congo branch of the Niger-Kordofanian family of languages. Tswana is spoken in Botswana and in South Africa. Tswana is sometimes called Western Sotho; it is closely related to Sotho. Urohima

Urohuma, also called Huma, is a dialect of Urohima. Xhosa

Xhosa is spoken in South Africa. Xhosa has been influenced by the neighboring Khoisan languages, and contains some of their same "click" sounds. Zulu

Zulu is one of the official languages of South Africa; it is also spoken in Lesotho, Malawi, and Swaziland. Ndebele, also called Matabele, is a dialect of Zulu spoken in Rhodesia.
