In support of The University of Montana's mission to provide a quality-based learning and research environment, the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library will provide users the dynamic services essential to identifying and accessing information. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) obtains research materials not owned by the Mansfield Library for UM faculty, staff and students.
One goal of the interlibrary loan department is to enhance the users' satisfaction by providing the most efficient turnaround time possible for requests. Please check the following resources prior to placing interlibrary loan requests to avoid unnecessary wait time.

- Mansfield Library Journals and Serial Publications
- Missoula Public Library
- Google Scholar
You can also place a HOLD on an item in the Library that is not checked out or that is at one of our partner libraries. Simply search the library catalog, choose an item from the result list, and on the next screen you will see an option on the right side to click HOLD. Follow the instructions and you will be notified via e-mail when it is available for pick up at the Mansfield Library Information Center counter or delivery to your campus address.
New ILL Service: Text notifications for ILLiad requests! To use this service, log in and choose Change User Information from the left hand menu. The 4th field allows you to choose text or email notifications.
NOTE: Cell phone service providers may charge for sent or received text messages. By signing up for text notifications, you give Mansfield Library staff permission to contact you via text message. Your privacy is important to us. All text messages sent from the Interlibrary Loan department are directed through standard telecommunication and Internet channels.
