Macro-Penutian
Macro-Penutian is one of the families of North American Indian languages. It is comprised
of two of the "superstocks," Penutian and Aztec-Tanoan, originally proposed by the linguist
Edward Sapir. It includes a number of languages divided among the following branches:
Penutian, Mapudungu, Huave, Mixe-Zoquean, Totonac, Mayan, and Aztec-Tanoan.
