LibQUAL +      Library Survey
Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library of The University of Montana-Missoula

INTRODUCTION

The results of the survey, together with other data collected by the Library, affirms the Mansfield Library continues to be valued and relied upon by the UM campus community. While library use continues to grow, this campus resources is being used much differently now than in the past. Present use mirrors trends occurring in academic libraries nationwide.

Survey results for the Mansfield Library were very comparable to those of the 221 participating academic institutions. When compared to peer institutions, the Mansfield Library met or exceeded survey results of those institutions. Results indicated particular value in the professional assistance received from library personnel, group learning facilities in support of the library instruction program, convenient service hours, and undergraduate student use of remote access to library resources. The data also indicated that faculty and graduate students seek access to more resources, both print and electronic, and that faculty had more difficulty than other groups in navigating the library website.

Preliminary survey results are available here. We will continue to analyze the results over the coming months, and will update this website as new information becomes available.
