Western authors make up a large portion of the fiction holdings in Archives & Special Collections (A&SC). Many of these books were published between the turn of the century and the early 1970s. A&SC has a fairly comprehensive collection of the published works of Myron Brinig, Dorothy Johnson, and Frank Bird Linderman, as well as the manuscript collections of Johnson and Linderman. Other writers with manuscript collections in A&SC include H. G. Merriam, James Grady, Peter Bowen and the poet Patricia Goedicke. Manuscript collections of journalists include the papers of Chet Huntley and Clarence Streit. Additional information about relevant manuscript collections can be found in this pdf file and by keyword searching or browsing in the Northwest Digital Archives database.
