Digital Collections:
We're making more of our collections available online every day. Visit the Library's Digital Collections page to find a full list of materials available online. Materials from Archives & Special Collections include:
  • The Archives Photo Database
    Currently providing access to over 1,200 of the 100,000 images in our photograph collections. New images are added each month.
  • Early Montana Histories
    The full, searchable text of a number of standard early Montana histories and biographies. Currently includes Progressive Men of Montana and Michael Leeson's History of Montana. More titles will be added soon.
  • American Indian Ledger Art
    Images of every page of a book of ledger art produced in the late nineteenth century by Walter Bone Shirt.
  • The H.W. Whicker Collection of Literary Manuscripts
    A collection of primarily nineteenth-century literary manuscripts of major English and American authors, including Thomas Carlyle, the Brownings, Longfellow, and others.
