How to Check Out

To check out library material you must present a current, valid picture ID. You can place holds, renew materials, cancel pending requests, and determine if fines have been assessed, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through your OneSearch account. The check out policies below are for items owned by Mansfield Library. Check out periods vary for items borrowed from other libraries.

To log in to your library account, use your driver's license number as your username. If you forget your password, contact the Check Out Desk for assistance.

General Information

General item check out for students and staff is 4 months, Faculty 1 year and Montana Borrowers 3 weeks.

See fine information for general items (books, journals, media) in the tables above by user status. 

Non-renewable items, reserves, recalled materials, study room keys and technology equipment accrue overdue fines. 

Lost or damaged item charges include the actual replacement cost of the item and a $10 processing fee. 

Users can renew general items online from the library website by logging into their My Library Account.
