Bibliographic Management Services
In support of the academic program at the University of Montana, Bibliographic Management Services acquires, catalogs, classifies and processes library material in a variety of formats for the University of Montana Libraries (Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library, the Flathead Lake Biological Station, Missoula College University of Montana, and the Herbarium) Additionally the library hosts a shared catalog providing support and assistance the William J. Jameson Law Library at the University of Montana School of Law, three affiliate campus libraries (The Helena College University of Montana, Montana Tech of The University of Montana (Butte), University of Montana-Western: Lucy Carson Library (Dillon) and two non-state funded institutions (Salish Kootenai College and St. Patrick’s Hospital Library).
Members of the department participate in the Library of Congress' NACO program to create name authority records for the national database, through the Montana NACO Funnel. Members of the department also participate in The Montana Memory Project which provides access to digital collections and items relating to Montana's cultural heritage and government.
