Cataloging and Metadata - Government Documents/Maps Team

The Government Documents/Maps Team is one of six teams in Cataloging and Metadata Services, which is itself one section of the Bibliographic Management Services area of the Mansfield Library. The team can be found in room MLIB321 on the third floor of the library building.

Services provided by the Government Documents/Maps Team:

  • Creates and maintains bibliographic records for all materials in any format (book, CD, video, map, e-book, periodical, microfilm, etc.), received by the FDLP and other sources
  • Creates and maintains cartographic cataloging records for the Mansfield Library
  • Provides physical processing of all FDLP materials (barcodes, call number application, etc.)
  • Provides rush items handling
  • Assist with special projects, training and documentation, web page development and serving on various committees and task forces
